Lego is terrific and this one rates GREAT! My son loves the changing parts, and setting up different scenes.

This lego set is great. It does not fall apart easily... which we all know some Lego sets fall apart if you sneeze to hard. The blades move as the cutter moves....and it is all built from little lego pieces (even the black "band" around the wheels). My son is 8 and loves it so much... we had to tell my sister to get her son one for his 9th b.day. He loved it also. Top notch Lego set!

My children enjoyed playing with this building set from Lego. It seems very durable and educational.

Lego's doing justice to the IJ franchise, and no mistake. However, they need to dial down the complexity of their bigger kits. This one could have had maybe 100 less pieces (most of which would be lost from inside the Cutter vehicle itself) and it would still look exactly the same, would still act exactly the same, and you'd save a good amount of time on putting it together.

Don't get me wrong, I like building Lego, and this is a great (looking) kit, just like the real stuff from the movie. I just think you'll look at it when you've finished, and you'll feel that most of your hard work is now hidden inside the Cutter, so why did you bother? Why not just have a few big bricks to fill up the engine space?

I bought this for my 8 year old cousin. He always loved the lego stuff where he has to do something before he sees the final result. This toy is really plays with your imagination as the parts are really innovative for a kid to figure out how to put them together. I saw my cousin really thinking it over and putting it together which was kind of cool to see. Also it gives them a forum to think about the so called puzzle. The quality of plastic is great. I always preferred Lego over mega blocks where the plastic is kind of cheap. So overall, its a great toy.

One thing your might be dissapointed about is, the video on Amazon website. It shows the toy planes flying, and the characters running to give this toy a life like experience. That does not happen in the real toy. Well, it was not supposed to be that way as that was a promotional video anyway. But its hard for kid to believe.
