The Maze Game of Manipulation and Coercion! It’s Friday afternoon, and the Pointy-Haired Boss is looking for a volunteer to work over the weekend. In this exciting twist on traditional board games, players choose Dilbert, Alice, Wally or Asok and race opponents through a maze of office cubicles. Visiting the break room is easy and may seem like a good place to hide, but beware; just like in most offices, the Pointy-Haired Boss frequents the break rooms often. Dil… More >>
Dilbert: Escape from Cubeville

Sorry, but as much as I love Dilbert, I have no interest in a game. When I ordered it, the small illustration of the box looked just like a book, so when the game arrived I was totally surprised and disappointed. Probably should have read the details more closely, but am so used to clicking on anything Dilbert, just made a mistake. After all these years of publications, who would suspect a game? Not me. Sorry

I was surprised by just how clever this game is! Its a fun strategy game; basically a multiplayer “theseus and the minotaur” (an online flash game) and reasonably easy to pick up. Each card has a delightful dilbert comic on it, further adding to the fun.
I played with only 2 players, and my one complaint was that the board was too big. I may try making it 7×5 next time… But its a steal for this price!

The Dilbert comic strip characters try to escape from Cubeville before running into the pointy haired boss who is looking for someone to give a big weekend project. The instructions are easy to understand and play can begin within five minutes of opening the box. The game board is only 14 x 14 inches and is made up of individual cube cards that are shuffled and repositioned after each game.
The game can be played by two or four players. Two of us played three games in a row in less than 35 minutes, so it moves quite quickly eliminating the potential for boredom. This is a strategic game of movement. The basic premise involves planning the fastest path out of the cubicle maze. The movement is dictated by drawing from a deck of cards. The cards instruct how to manipulate the game board pieces, how many spaces to move and often contain other special instructions. Many of the cards also include actual Dilbert comic strips to keep the flavor of the character’s personalities alive.
The idea is to figure out how to undermine your opponents’ progress, and, if at all possible, maneuver the other employees into the path of the boss – the worst of all fates. The first one who escapes the cube maze wins. The game is fast and fun — and for the price, a great bargain. It would make a terrific gift for fellow office cubicle dwellers – or any game playing family. Even kids unfamiliar with the comic strip will enjoy the game.

What a great game! Were not huge Dilbert fans but loved it anyway. It only takes a few minutes to learn how to play and it only takes a few minutes to become hooked… You set up the board randomly (like the settlers of catan, each game is different), place your piece and then your cards determine how you move. You try to move your piece across the board by manipulating the board squares. You have to worry about your own characters path, while also trying to change and block your opponent’s paths, and also trying to get the boss to attack your enemies while not attacking you. Lots of fun and easy. My 7 year old daughter actually beat us in only her second game. I highly recommend it, especially at Amazon’s price!
