    I bought this for my daughter’s 5th birthday and she absolutely loves it! She usually has an attention span of only 10-15 minutes and moves on to the next toy, but she’ll sit and paint for two hours! My 2 year old son likes the chalkboard side.

    It is easy to assemble and easy to re-adjust the height for older or younger children. The frame is smooth, solid wood and very sturdy. The plastic trays and wing nuts are also good quality and seem like they will hold up well. I read some reviews before I bought it that the chalkboard was kind of hard to write on unless painted over with special chalkboard paint, but we haven’t had any problems with that- the chalk that comes with it writes well and shows up clearly.

    I would definitely recommend the Melissa & Doug easel for children AND adults. It’s that good!

    We bought this easel pad to go along with the easel kit. Our 4 1/2 yr old daughter loves to paint on this and she enjoys turning the pages ‘all by herself’.

    Has magnetic numbers and letters on one side with chalk board and dry erasure board on the other. What kid does not like to draw with markers or chalk. I also ordered eraser and drymarkers and box of chalk. It was a hit!

    I bought this pad to go with my son’s learning tower which has an easel on it. Its just what we needed and durable enough for paint. This will make great winter projects when we are all stuck in the house and a little less mess than just paper. Great melissa and doug product as usual
